Kenn and I took the HCR's Club finish line equipment to Zillah and we set it all up in plenty of time to run the race.
Kenn did the 10K, Buster and I did the 5K. It was a perfect morning to run....sunny, cool and the prompt 8 a.m. start had all the runners and several pets thundering off. We had a few hills but nothing like Robie Creek!
Kenn ended up first in his age group of the 55+; Buster and I were third in the women's 55+.
Manuel Santos won the overall 10K with Brandie Bounds winning the women 10K. Donna Nettleship took the women's 5K title and Bennett Mayo winning the 5K for the men. Other Hard Core Runners seen were Stan Helmka, Frank Covelli, Sidney Allen, her Dad Joseph, and Ed & Cindy Whitlock.
Only the first place winners received medals and the age groups were rather large: 40-54, 55+ for example.
Thanks to Cindy and Ed for helping take down the finish line.
We had a great breakfast at the Squeeze Inn afterwards (Kenn got his pancakes)!
