What: 5K (3.1 mile) Training Program

Workouts:  Will vary depending on your schedule

Goal Event:  September 20, 2008, West Valley Community Park

Informational Meeting: June 12, 6:30 PM, Memorial Bible Church, Fireside Room

 

Come join us for this intriguing and effective workout program developed by the Furman Institute of Running and Scientific Training (FIRST).  The 12 week program involves three days of walking or running (depending on your goal) and two days of cross training each week.  We will follow programs out of the book, “Run Less, Run Faster”. 

 

You will decide on your goal: to walk the 5K, jog the 5K or run the 5K.  We will introduce you to other women with the same goal and help you set up a training schedule. We will encourage each other, workout together, and fellowship (e.g. muffins and fruit after the work out).  Then, all the groups will meet on September 20 to do the event! 

 

If you also have a goal of using a diet plan to lose weight, you may join an MBC Weight Watchers group or choose one of the other suggestions available at the informational meeting.
